Former legal secretary with over 24 years transcribing experience.

I originally started out as a young 17 year old legal secretary working for a leading criminal department. After having my two children I decided to “go it alone”. I now have a balance of working part-time freelance and part-time for Derbyshire Constabulary as an Evidential Summariser, transcribing and summarising PACE interviews and victim interviews/statements.

Years Transcribing: 24 years

Qualifications: 9 x GCSEs Grades A-C, ILEX Legal Secretarial Certificate – Criminal Option, CLAIT, RSA Typing and Word Processing – Level 2 and NVQ Level 2 Business Administration. Level 2 Certificate in Personal Fitness, Health and Nutrition.

Unique Information: I took a short break from transcribing for 2 years and worked as a Custody Detention Officer for the local police.

Specialist Transcription Skills: I’ve gained extensive experience in all aspects of transcription in the socio-economic, academic, medical, legal, and financial sectors. I am proficient at transcribing a range of accents.
